Call for Project Proposals 2024/25

NEDT Awards four teachers in Nepal (Online Khabar)
In line with one of its project objectives, i.e., to create teaching-learning repository based on teachers’ best-completed projects, NEDT collected some best projects in 2023 and awarded four best projects implemented by school teachers in Nepal on Saturday, the 19th of August, 2023. The NEDT award ceremony took place between 5:30 and 7:00 pm Nepali time in Zoom and it was attended by teachers across Nepal. The first awardee received NPR 1,00,000 as well as a certificate of honour, the runner-up received NPR 50,000 and a certificate of honour, and two other projects received consolation award which included NPR 10,000 each and a certificate. Two best projects have been deposited on NEDT project website (https://nepaledt.org/project-repository/) which can be accessed freely. It is expected that Nepalese teachers and interested people around the world would access these resources and use them on their own ways to bring some transformation in their teaching practices. Besides announcement of awardees, the program included the speakers Dr. Hari Lamsal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education, Nepal, Ms. Roshan Khanal, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Nepal, London, Dr. Prithvi shrestha, Advisor, NEDT, Prof. Laxman Gnawali, Kathmandu University, Nepal, Mr. Bhupati Bashyal, STFT, Nepal, Dr. Sagun Shrestha, Trust Coordinator, Mr. Nabraj Koirala & Mr. Binod Karki, former Presidents, NRNA Ireland, Mr. Prakash Sapkota, current President of NRNA, Dr. Keshab Malla, Communications Head, Dr. Saraswati Dawadi, project repository head, Ms. Miriam Corneli, fundraising advisor, Ms. Sheela Gautam, treasurer and Mr. Saroj Gurung, NEDT Trustee. The chief guest, Dr. Lamsal stated that the Minsitry of Eucation, the government of Nepal will acknowledge the effort of NEDT. There were also two presentations made by the NEDT Award winner, Bibas Thapa, a teacher from Gorkshya Secondary School, Hetunda and Saroj Lamichhane, a runner-up, teacher from Bansa Gopal Secondary School, Hetaunda. The two consolation awardees were Ghanashyam Adhikari, a teacher of ShingaDevi Secondary School, Jhapa and Moin Uddin, Tamangkharka Secondary School, Dhading. The program was hosted by Ms. Deepa Rai, Secretary of NEDT.
